Witnessing Tools
May 30, 2018 - Wendy Wippel
Genesis is admittedly one of the more challenging portions of Scripture to reconcile with  modern, twenty-first century perceptions of our universe’s origins.
Some Not-So-Subtle Sermon Suggestions      Average Rank of 4.89 Stars
In Defense of the Faith
May 29, 2018 - Steve Schmutzer
According to a recent “Twitter survey,” the average length of a sermon anymore is about 36 minutes.  I said “average.” That means roughly half of the sermons every Sunday are shorter than that. It’s fast food for the frenzied flock.
The Uncanny Valley      Average Rank of 4.94 Stars
Random Thoughts on Bible Prophecy: Part II
Prophecy - Signs
May 28, 2018 - Pete Garcia
The uncanny valley is a concept that was first identified by a Japanese robotics professor named Masahiro Mori (phrase later coined by Jasia Reichardt) describing the eerie/creepy feeling you get when confronted by a humanoid robotic, computer simulation, or digital avatars that appear almost, but not quite human. There is also a similar feeling you get when watching a human act in non-human ways, such as in the cases of zombies, those under demonic possession, or someone high on hallucinogenic drugs.
On Jesus Christ and Romney's Complaint      Average Rank of 4.86 Stars
Witnessing Tools
May 25, 2018 - Alf Cengia
Mormon Mitt Romney recently vented uncharacteristic frustration on Twitter. The object of his irritation was Pastor of Dallas First Baptist Church Robert Jeffress. The occasion was Pastor Jeffress' delivery of the blessing at the opening of the United States Embassy in Jerusalem.
Persia and the Jewish People      Average Rank of 4.72 Stars
Israel - Middle East
May 24, 2018 - J.L. Robb
The history of Persia (Iran) and Israel goes back through millennia; and it has not always been antagonistic.
LAND LIES      Average Rank of 4.75 Stars
In Defense of the Faith
May 23, 2018 - Wendy Wippel
An effusive but apparently intellectually confused internet commentator who calls himself (improbably) Yukon Jack has now weighed in with forecast (and more) for the nation of Israel. Ready? “Israel is doomed, the state has no right to exist and it’s identity politics are all based on false assumption, hyperbole, and a false history of persecution. Israel floats on a sea of lies." That would be a negatory, Mr. Jack.
The Benefit of Studying Biblical Prophecy      Average Rank of 5.00 Stars
Part 2
Prophecy - Signs
May 22, 2018 - Steve Schmutzer
In my prior installment of this topic, I ruefully noted the not-so-uncommon reaction too many Christians have to studying Biblical prophecy. As I clarified, it’s often an unsupportive response that is one part sarcasm, two parts arrogance, and altogether a disrespect of God’s divine Word.
Rapture Dates and Trumpet Judgments      Average Rank of 4.84 Stars
(Random Thoughts on Bible Prophecy: Part I)
Prophecy - Signs
May 21, 2018 - Pete Garcia
Inevitably, as we draw closer to the last days, things are beginning to happen with increasing frequency and intensity. These events will trigger a whole slew of emotional responses for those who are awake and watching, ranging from excitement and anticipation, to fear and foreboding.
On Excusing Evil      Average Rank of 4.87 Stars
Israel - Middle East
May 18, 2018 - Alf Cengia
I'm ashamed to admit that I've been living in my current house for over two years and have only recently visited the local Jewish Museum. Worse, I had driven past it hundreds of times. It's kind of ironic given the nature of my weekly Omega Letter brief.
Safe At Home      Average Rank of 4.84 Stars
May 16, 2018 - Wendy Wippel
Early in our  marriage my husband went to a conference in New York with our church’s men’s group and came home absolutely raving about everything he had learned. He gave me the materials to look at but, well, I never got around to it. He was a baby Christian and I was teaching women’s studies! What could his conference stuff –from a guy  I had never heard of --teach me?  Fast forward seven years and we’ve been relocated to Mississippi, I’m unpacking,  and I come across the well-stuffed notebook that I’d chosen to ignore seven years before.
The Benefit of Studying Biblical Prophecy      Average Rank of 4.89 Stars
Part 1
Prophecy - Signs
May 15, 2018 - Steve Schmutzer
I was dismayed to see a reader’s feedback to one of my articles, but it was not because he disagreed with my position or disliked the things I had to say. In fact, he was complimentary about how I’d arrived at my conclusions and how I’d expressed my views. What troubled me were his comments on the study of Biblical prophecy itself.
The Great Man Theory      Average Rank of 4.89 Stars
Prophecy - Signs
May 14, 2018 - Pete Garcia
The Rapture of the Church is not intrinsically dependent upon any other prophetic event for it to occur. However, there are other prophetic connections dependent upon the Rapture for their own fulfillment. The arrival of the Antichrist is one of those examples. There has to be a man who fits the Biblical descriptions, ready to seize upon the chaos that would ensue in the aftermath of a Rapture scenario. This leads one to believe either one of two things; this particular man was made for the times, or the times will make him.
On Jews and Credit Card Identity Theft      Average Rank of 4.92 Stars
In Defense of the Faith
May 11, 2018 - Alf Cengia
On Jews and Credit Card Identity Theft - I know that's a weird title to an article. But stay with me. This is more about the Jews than credit cards.
IN GOD WE TRUST      Average Rank of 4.88 Stars
In Defense of the Faith
May 10, 2018 - J.L. Robb
In the world of plague, continuous darkness would be a bad one; and darkness is among us. Not a physical darkness but a spiritual darkness.
Once Upon Elam      Average Rank of 4.91 Stars
Israel - Middle East
May 08, 2018 - Steve Schmutzer
Two years ago, the adult Sunday school class I teach voted to start a new study in the book of Daniel. I was wrapping up a year-long study in Jude, and several options were under discussion for where we might go next.
American Albatross      Average Rank of 4.87 Stars
Prophecy - Signs
May 07, 2018 - Pete Garcia
Author's Note: When I originally wrote this (Jan. 10th, 2012), we were neck-deep in the previous administration’s tenure. Corruption (both political and societal) were in full swing, and then-President Obama was upholding his campaign promise to fundamentally transform America. Today, we have a new administration working feverishly to undo those wrongs; however, it is still largely one man against the swamp, and against a deep state regime operating just below the surface of our elected government. This article has been updated to reflect our current situation.
Tribulation is Coming      Average Rank of 4.83 Stars
Prophecy - Signs
May 04, 2018 - Alf Cengia
Tribulation is coming. As far as the church is concerned it has always been present to varying degrees throughout history. God has never exempted Christians from tribulation, persecution or martyrdom. In fact we Christians ought to expect it.
Tiny Tunnels      Average Rank of 4.79 Stars
Witnessing Tools
May 02, 2018 - Wendy Wippel
A quick check of the internet reveals that there are no less than 39 films that have featured wormholes in their respective plots.
Why Should We Study the Tribulation?      Average Rank of 4.83 Stars
Prophecy - Signs
May 01, 2018 - Steve Schmutzer
In my role as a teacher, I get asked a lot of questions, and here’s one. It’s asked various ways, but it’s basically this: "Why should we study The Tribulation if we as Christians won’t experience it?"
