Secretary of State Colin Powell used electronic intercepts, satellite photographs and other intelligence resources to make the case to the UN Security Council. Powell opened with a warning. "I cannot tell you everything I know but what I can share with you is deeply troubling".

The meeting was convened on Washington's request to provide proof of Iraq's violations of UN with upmteen Security Council resolutions and its lack of cooperation with UNMOVIC weapons inspectors.

In making the case, Secretary Powell played two recent audios of conversations between Iraqi military officials. The communication recorded an official telling his colleague to clear out all the 'forbidden material' and destroy the message thereafter.

The Secretary of State presented satellite photographs which showed that how the evidence had been moved around from military bunkers in mid-December -- just before the inspectors could visit those locations.

A picture also showed trucks moving missiles to about 30 different locations.

Graphics of mobile factories, alleged to produce biological agents were shown. Powell said that there were 7 such facilities loaded on 18 trucks.

Iraqi scientists are forbidden to speak and threatened with death, Powell said. In one such case a fake death certificate was issued in order to avoid an interview.

The Iraqis dismissed the evidence as 'fabricated' and America's case as all a 'big lie'.

Indeed, Powell presented compelling evidence, whether France, Germany and their cronies are willing to accept it or not.

The question will be how far are all those who are opposed to a war with Iraq are willing to go in their efforts to refute the evidence presented.

At issue is whether the proof offered -- or whether any proof -- will be enough to make a case for war against Iraq.

The next few days will be crucial, as America will know for sure if the world got the message as articulated by the Bush Doctrine back in 2001.

"Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists".
