May 21, 2011 was an interesting day to be a Christian.  Fortunately (or unfortunately depending where you are at) the rapture didn’t come.  It did, however, allow us to fasten our armor to combat the lies.

Omega Letter receives countless emails of those predicting the rapture.  Why did Camping make the headlines?  Because he had billboards?  Yep, big signs, truth or not, made a big impact.

My favorite part of the whole fiasco (yes, I did have a favorite part; as all things work together for good), was the kids.  Kids were up all night on facebook, xbox and messenger wishing one another farewell.

I heard one comment through xbox, that really got me thinking. It was said by a 13 year old boy wondering if he should go have a shower to be ready for Jesus.  The next comment was better “Ya, Jesus is gonna say, hey look at that kid with nice hair, don’t forget him.”

There was lots of ribbing and joking going on.  But underneath the laughter there was a sense of urgency, and a great fear circulating in cyber world.  The truth was not easily found and facebook was not cutting it.

Most young people have a God consciousness until someone talks them out of it.  Silence on matters of God is the norm for the family these days.  Most parents don’t want to say “there is no God” to their kids, because what if they are wrong?

No one wants to doom their own children to eternity in hell.  Secular parents love and cherish their kids as much as humanly possible.  So instead of having an opinion either way they remain silent and allow the kids to figure it out for themselves.

Some say it is not polite to discuss religion and politics at the dinner table.  As a teen, I would have agreed with “some”. When I was fifteen I couldn’t care less who Gog and Magog were.  Nor did I care that the Middle East was erupting here and there.  Honestly, it bored me to tears.

The rapture seemed unfair because I wanted a future on earth (what did I know? I was fifteen) and judgment scared the daylights out of me.  The future was not only “not bright”, but it looked like it may be non-existent.  That outlook has not changed much on a global scale (just tune in to the news for an hour), but on a personal level, dinnertime was my biggest learning curve.

All that supposed useless information has now become useful.  Pa may have actually known what he was talking about 23 years ago.  Go figure!

The Last Generation was written in 2007.  It was published by True Potential Publishing and then sold by Olive Tree Ministries primarily.  It was priced for a ridiculous amount of money on Amazon a couple of months back, but those copies were special and signed by the author.

(Note to self: get Dad to sign my copies.)

Last summer I was set on the task to read “The Last Generation” with an editorial eye to see if it could be updated or expounded on.  That’s when my fifteen year old brain kicked in with, “ahhh Dad do I have to?”.  Fortunately I didn’t say that out loud (at the time).  I then put on my grown up hat and set to work.

Well I wouldn’t have believed it myself if I hadn’t been doing it, but it was fascinating! Every time I hit on something that I couldn’t quite understand I went looking for a “proof”.  That is when it got interesting.

When searching for the links, I tried to stay with websites that weren’t Christian in nature and sites I knew weren’t going anywhere any time soon.  There are links to Wikipedia, major news sources, historical sites.  There are a few prophecy sites, but I used those mostly for images, like the image for Nebuchadnezzar’s dream that Daniel interrupted. (those images couldn’t be found on secular sites).

Since I was knee high to a grasshopper I have heard about the money trust.  I always figured it must be true but I never realized how true it all really was until I started searching for outside sources.   I felt just like the character that Mel Gibson played in Conspiracy Theory.

"In November 1910, having consulted with Rothschild Banks in England, France, and Germany, Senator Nelson Aldrich boarded a private train in Hoboken, New Jersey. He was headed to a meeting of the world’s wealthiest men at a private hunting club owned by J.P. Morgan.

The meeting was to be secret; so secret that even the participants were instructed to address each other by their first names only.  Those present represented one-sixth of the world’s wealth: Benjamin Strong, President of Morgan's Bankers Trust Company; Charles Norton, President of Morgan's First National Bank of New York; Henry Davidson, senior partner of J. P. Morgan; Frank Vanderlip, President of Kuhn, Loeb’s National City Bank of New York; A. Piatt Andrew, Assistant Secretary of Treasury; and the future Governor of the Federal Reserve, Paul Warburg." (Excerpted from The Last Generation: Chapter 9- The Global Economy)

No wonder Mel’s character was nuts! Secret meetings?  For real?

The only thing that could be added to this book was links.  All the information was still current and surprisingly engaging.  Once all the links were in place, we then had to think of what to do with it.

After all, most of Omega Letter’s subscribers had already purchased the book and in some cases they purchased quite a few.  The hard copy is still available at Olive Tree for those that like to hold a book, but this was a little different.  With all the links “The Last Generation” became an excellent online reference and witnessing tool.  That was when the E-book version was born.

I personally am very apprehensive to download something off of a website that is free.  What about spam? Are they going to use my email address?  Will I be getting more and more Viagra ads?  The information contained in "The Last Generation Ebook" is valuable and you know what they say about TANSTAAFL.

So we priced it….sorta.  We decided to let the buyer decide what they think it is worth.  Like myself, most think it is worth more than a dollar.  That was a pleasant surprise to Dad.  It took a little convincing that the book was timeless and needed to be out there for the masses but in the end I was given the green light.

Back to the kids on the computer and their need for correct and reliable information.  Here is a note we received recently.

Dear Mr.Kinsella,
I read your article today titled "Judgment Day, 2011 -- The End is Here?", and I just want to say thanks for writing it. I just turned 18 and I am still uncertain about my faith in general, but reading your article sincerely reassured me of my confidence in my religion. The entire Rapture prediction has me in a personal frenzy and it is scary to think the end was already here. I am glad someone like you stood up to Harold Camping and presented truth to those who became caught up in his lies, like me. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Judgment, Tribulation and Rapture are not terms kids today are privy to, but they do have some burning questions about life and their position in it.  As you can see from the note above, the confusion is not limited to the lost.  Information is so overwhelming that is hard to distinguish the truth from the lies, especially for the young.  The ebook gives the truth at the click of a button and gets them where they are; their laptops.

So hold on to your hats here is the pitch.
