The Mob Rules
Commentary on the News

I blame the success of the Tea Party. Before 2008’s financial meltdown, the American animal was quite content to stay at home plopped on the couch watching baseball and ordering out for pizza.
Before Glenn Beck, the average American voted once every four years, thinking they had done their civic duty. Before the alternate internet and cable news sources, American’s were quite content to listen to Peter Jennings or Tom Brokaw bring them the nightly news. Before all this, the average American was ok with living and let live.
Certainly, 9/11 holds some responsibility for waking the American public up. It let this generation know, that it can be touched by those who hate us. The ‘rally around the flagpole’ lasted until about 2003, when President Bush kicked off the war in Iraq. But, after the bailouts in 2008/2009, and the year-long Obama-care socialist debacle 2010 that threatens to affect every single American significantly, the American public woke up. They realized just how fragile our precious society really is with its Divinely inspired Constitution as its backbone. People began to hearken back to the days of President Reagan, and somehow those cautionary quotes about us being the ‘last beacon of hope’ don’t seem so silly now.
What the Tea Party was able to do, was to rally the people around an idea, peacefully, and in larger than reported numbers. The message was powerful. To my knowledge, of all the thousands of protests and million’s of attendees, not one resulted in an arrest. Their success centered on the idea of holding politician’s accountable for their actions and their votes. Whoa, whoa, whoa...that isn’t supposed to happen!!! No, the politicians did not like this at all.
So, after a stunning mid-term loss for the Democrats in 2010, the seed’s of retribution were planted in the minds of those democrats, and their super secret funders like George Soros, to counter the Tea Party with their own rallies. But since their man was in office, they couldn’t really run against the establishment, hence the confusion presently run amok in the various “Occupy” movements around the nation. At present, their only agenda seems to disrupt life for everyone within shouting distance.
Some have said that the ‘Arab Spring’ also had something to do with it. I think there is some truth to this for those movers and shakers behind the scenes promoting and funding Occupy. But to the average schmo on the street, their motives are so varied that it would be hard to pin any specific thing down, other than ‘give me, give me, give me’.
I’d wager to bet, that as time progresses, these folks will resort to violence. Heck, it doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to figure that out. But as we move into next year, these folks will start to organize into factions and will begin to do more damage than stink up a city block and spread lice. Their attacks will become more malicious and more intent on causing serious damage, mayhem, and harm.
No longer will the Middle Eastern male, age 18-40 be the prime suspect as they board the plane at JFK or Dulles airport. Now, the terrorist could be anyone. Ironically, it’s almost as if the Department of Homeland Security saw this coming several years ago.
Yet, I have the sneaking suspicion, as the President and most of the Democrats have thrown their support behind this Occupy movement, these folks will not bear the brunt of the new police state measures. I think this administration will let this go on for as long as they can, and will use this for justification for martial law or some other extreme police state measure somewhere around next year’s election.
Having been to Iraq and Afghanistan, I’ve seen what an IED can do to a vehicle many times. I’ve said to my peers, just wait until these (IED’s) hit the States. Imagine the panic and the chaos this will send not only to the commuters of our highways and byways, but to the shipping and transportation industry. And since men and women over there in the Middle East with little to no education can put them together, imagine what highly educated, student-loan laden youngsters over here can come up with. Truly, there are some dark days coming to our country.
As Europe disintegrates and aligns itself up prophetically into the 10 kingdom confederacy that the Bible says it will, those structural changes will have painful financial ramifications here in the states. Luke 21:25 comes to mind…at least the last half of it: "and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring."
As the money dries up, austerity measures are either in-placed (or threatened too), look for these protests to turn into full-blown riots here.
Secondarily, if Israel (or the US/NATO) launches an attack on Iran, the price of gasoline will sky rocket. That of course will drive up not just the price of gas, but the price of everything else that has to be transported. This will be like pouring 8$ a gallon gasoline on an already parched house of cards.
If these two events continue on their current trajectory, then it won’t be just these young anarchists out raising Cain, but it will be the normal American’s who out of desperation, will begin to do things they normally wouldn’t do. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Of course, the mainstream media will continue to shill for the Administration, and will gloss over the gross tragedies that are occurring around the country at these Occupy events. It’s almost as if they know, that if they play ball (keep shilling) then they will survive whatever state-run shut down of the internet and alternate news sites that will come about.
Senators Rockefeller and Lieberman are just two of a growing number of politicians already pushing through legislation to be able to shut it down in case of some kind of cyber attack. Of course, they condemned Egyptian President Mubarak for shutting it down, and of course, this will only shut down the ‘key critical infrastructure networks’. Of course those networks are linked to all the other networks, so you’d pretty much have to shut it all down to guarantee effective protection.
Of course, I too have full faith and confidence in our Administrations ability to handle things. Just look at how well we’ve curbed the violence in Mexico with “Fast and Furious”. Look how much energy and money we’ve saved with “Solyndra”. And of course, I’m being completely facetious now, as we’ve seen the absolute incompetence run amok with both of these fiascos.
The chaos not only ongoing in the city streets, but in the halls of Congress and the White House is by no means slowing down. It is on fast forward. Every which way the government turns to solve its problems; new more damaging ones pop up. It reminds me of that scene in Mel Brook’s 1987 classic movie “Spaceballs” where light speed was too slow; they had to go to “ludicrous speed”.
Jesus said that in the last days, these events would not only happen, but would be like birth-pangs. They would increase in frequency and in severity. Deception, wars, rumors of war, earthquake, pestilences, iniquity, and famines would rock the planet until they reach a crescendo of violence and fear. This is the point, in which the world will clamor for a man, any man, to come in and fix things.
Jesus told his disciples in the Upper Room Discourse that if the world hated Him, the world would hate them as well. Specifically, He says:
"But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you." John 16:4
It would be easy to remain sarcastic about things. It would be easy to let fear overtake you, considering all the craziness out in the world today. But as Christians, we were foretold these things, so that when they happened, it wouldn’t take us by surprise. In other words, God is in control and all this has been seen before the world was even created.
So take heart, and as our world begins to tear itself apart, know that we are that much closer to the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:1-3
