After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

On Lipstick & Jihad Freedom Fighters
Israel - Middle East
Friday, March 08, 2013
Alf Cengia

In a discussion about the difference between John McCain and George W. Bush's policies, Barack Obama once famously said ''You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig''.

So, how about this bit of news?  It appears that politically-correct educators have descended upon Texas.  Their concern is that that state is entertaining the wrong thoughts and attitudes about very important matters and they're going fix the problem.

How do the thought police achieve that? - By getting into school kids' minds.

As Michelle Malkin notes:

"Texas is a right-minded red state, where patriotism is still a virtue and political correctness is out of vogue. So how on earth have left-wing educators in public classrooms been allowed to instruct Lone Star students to dress in Islamic garb, call the 9/11 jihadists “freedom fighters” and treat the Boston Tea Party participants as “terrorists”?"

Jihadists are freedom fighters and the Tea Party a bunch of terrorists?  That's an interesting perspective on these two groups.  The people who kill themselves while killing other people are really the good guys.  But watch out for those nasty right wing conservative types who hold peaceful public rallies!

See, I wouldn't have detected those subtle nuances.  How nice of those concerned "educators" set us straight!

Oh, and by "straight" I mean on the right path...if you know what I mean.  I'm sorry - by "right" I mean the truth of the matter and not that "left" is necessarily wrong.  Not that my "truth" is better than yours even if it is different.  All truths are equally valid as long as they're PC...right?

Sigh!

Now please understand that I'm not calling Jihadists pigs at all.  But to, glorify, romanticize and sanitize what the 9/11 terrorists did, and their motivations for doing so - is just like putting lipstick on a pig.

Understand also that these guys were suicide murderers.  Their mission was to kill as many "sacrificial victims" as possible and to die gloriously in the process.  They hated America for supporting Israel (among a string of other excuses) and hated Israel because it exists.  Moreover, their motivation likely involved a combination of lust and the desire to obtain salvation for their relatives.

According to sources the 9/11 jihadists had paradise and virgins on their minds, as well as being "spiritually motivated" for their mission.  After the 9/11 attacks the FBI discovered a four page document that gave some insight into the mindset of these "freedom fighters".  Middle East studies Professor Tilman Seidensticker reveals that:

"The promise of paradise appears to play an extraordinarily important role in the motivation. It's mentioned about a dozen times. The virgins they will be rewarded with in paradise are also mentioned."

Back in 2010, Hamas TV sermonized to its audience the idea that committing suicide and murdering Jews would result in an eternity of joy with Allah and 72 perpetually virginal wives.  More importantly, the martyr for Allah is crowned with honor and secures his salvation.  According to the Qur'an and Hadiths the martyr will also:

"...be able to intervene on behalf of 70 of his family members on Judgment Day, thereby ensuring them the reward of Afterlife."

Perhaps it's the promise of saving one's family that partly explains female suicide murderers.  However, there are a number of theories and studies that, in some cases, paint a more complex and sordid picture - one that the PC police will want to avoid discussing in Texan classrooms.  There's not enough lipstick to cover all the grimy details.

Whereas the male Shahid is promised eternal bliss in the arms of perpetual virgins - a woman can best hope for eternity in heaven married to a Shaheed.  Through her own investigative studies, criminologist Dr. Anat Berko discovered that while the families of some male "bombers" were recompensed handsomely, the families of female "bombers" were overlooked.  She claims that women with "tarnished" reputations in were the first to be recruited for these suicide missions.  In other words these women were disposable commodities.  Dr. Berko also states that:

“It is not uncommon at all for Muslim women to be raped by Muslim men and then have a suicide belt placed on their body.”

Whatever the reasons these "freedom fighters" are striving for, women's rights and gender equality isn't prominent on their list of things to do.  Where was the outcry from women's groups?  It was no doubt lost in the romantic narrative of the freedom-fighting Jihadist.

Hamas and the Palestinian Authority are most often portrayed as freedom fighters of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation and oppression.  Not only is that a case of applying liberal make-up on the pig (again, by pig I mean the truth of the situation and not the individuals involved) but also of hiding it altogether.

In the U.S. Bob Woodward was recently quoted as saying:

"It makes me very uncomfortable to have the White House telling reporters - You're going to regret doing something that you believe in."

Yet how many news outlets are informing their readers that Gaza journalists are regularly imprisoned and beaten if they don't toe the freedom-party line?  According to Gatestone Institute:

"As far as many Western governments and journalists are concerned, physical assaults on Palestinian reporters in the Gaza Strip are fine as long as they are not perpetrated by Israel. The Palestinian Authority crackdown on Palestinian journalists in the West Bank is also fine as long as Israel is not involved."

As some reports suggest, Hamas' freedom-fighting activities aren't limited to protecting its citizens from Israel's tyranny.  Apparently some of them have been freelancing in Syria with a view to broaden the scope to other countries.  Some would call it mercenary work and/or Islamist expansion, but with a little bit of lipstick....

We all know that Syria has its freedom fighters as well.  To date there are upwards of 70,000 people dead (some say 90,000) and over a million refugees.  I guess that's one cost of freedom.  Yet a significant portion of these refugees are Christians fleeing from persecution by the Syrian Rebels...er, freedom fighters.

But perhaps we should be thankful to our "educators" after all.

Apparently, it's not offensive to kill infidels if one aims to attain salvation and an eternity with 72 virgins in the process.  But wearing the cross in a school classroom isn't a very nice thing to do.

More subtle nuances!

More lipstick please!
