Chipotle Mexican Grill has cancelled its Great Salt Lake Council's Utah Scout-O-Rama fundraiser due to the controversy surrounding the Boy Scouts of America's ban on gay leaders and scouts. The restaurant chain was to provide food coupons, according to the The Salt Lake Tribune.
Originally, Chipotle Mexican Grill seemed to stick to its guns of normalcy (think Dan Cathy, Chick Fil A); but as the word spread about the chain’s desire to express its First Amendment rights, the pressure set in.
Now the word didn’t spread in the religious community nor did it spread in the business community. It didn’t spread in the charitable organization community nor did it spread throughout the historical societies or March Madness fans. The only reported communities in which the word spread was the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LBGT) communities. These are the communities that apparently call the shots in our rapidly regressing society. Of course, this regression was predicted thousands of years ago.
According to a Huffington Post report on March 20:
"As word spread about the Chipotle sponsorship, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocates pressed the company on its decision, which seemed to go against its policy of not supporting “organizations that discriminate against a person or a group on the basis of age, political affiliation, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief."
The Boy Scouts of America are under attack… again. It’s not an unusual phenomenon, except the attacks have increased so much in the last 30 years. Revisionist historians would like to rewrite the Boy Scout Oath and Law, so it will be in their words. Kind of like the revisionists want to rewrite God’s Laws to fit their view, which is narrow indeed.
The Boy Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.
We should pay special attention to “…duty to God” and “Scout Law.”
Anyone doing a duty to God, at least the God of Abraham, does not condone the LBGT thing. Actually it is God who doesn’t condone the behavior; and those of us who believe that God is reality instead of mythology, have a tendency to agree with everything He said in His only Text Book. That would be the Bible. We don’t think He made any mistakes or needs to change. We need to change.
The Boy Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
Who is the BSA being reverent to? Not Chipotle Mexican Grill.
If one wants to see the wrath of the anti-God, just say something negative about the LGBT community. If the BSA changes their laws to accommodate the left, they will be de-accomodating God. Not a tough choice, or it shouldn’t be. It’s the pressure to not just condone the LBGT lifestyle but to endorse it; to like it; to go to their parades, take the kids and rejoice in our progressive thinking.
God was not progressive, He was not politically correct.
Apparently a lot of folk ask what’s wrong with putting gay boys in with the young non-gay boys, in essence making the organization co-ed. What will that hurt? they ask. It’s unfair.
Unfair to who? Here’s a true story.
The year is 1956, and the Boy Scouts are having a camporee. A young boy scout, 11 years old is excited about his first overnight camping trip. He has his canteen, a can of Spam and his merit badge requirements in hand. He had already earned a Morse Code merit badge and was planning to work on another.
The first day and night went well, fun for all and only a few bruises and cuts. The young kid liked his tent-mate, another kid but older by a year or two and couldn’t wait to get home and tell his parents about the camporee.
The next night, the last night, the youngest was whispering away about all the fun he was having. That’s when things got strange.
“Do you want to go scrolling?” the older kid asked.
The younger had no idea what scrolling was but why not? “Sure, what is it?” A moment later the older teen had his hand in the kid’s shorts.
Who was being treated unfairly?
Being eleven in 1956, the young boy didn’t tell his parents about the encounter; because back then there was no sex-education. At that age kids didn’t know what sex was, much less scrolling.
The kid dropped out of the Boy Scouts shortly before the next camporee and the memory didn’t stir for many years.

Spirituality has been an integral part of the international Scouting movement since its inception. As early as 1908, Scouting founder Robert Baden-Powell wrote in the first Scout handbook that, "No man is much good unless he believes in God and obeys His laws." - Wikipedia
Before long the revisionists will rewrite biblical law so that even killing will be okay. Wait! I think they already did!
There is a trial going on today, a trial that has gotten little coverage, even from FOX which is surprising. The murder trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell (not a frog) started on March 18. The accounts of late-birth abortion beheadings, a witness testifying about the late term baby screaming as the spinal cord was “snipped” and other horrors took place in Philadelphia. Have you heard about it?
If not, no wonder. According to a column in today’s USA Today by Kirsten Powers,
"A Lexis-Nexis search shows none of the news shows on the three major national television networks has mentioned the Gosnell trial in the last three months. The exception is when Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan hijacked a segment on Meet the Press meant to foment outrage over an anti-abortion rights law in some backward red state."
The Washington Post has not published original reporting on this during the trial and The New York Times saw fit to run one original story on A-17 on the trial's first day. They've been silent ever since, despite headline-worthy testimony.
One of the clinics' employees estimated that he saw about 100 babies born alive and then "snipped" with surgical scissors in the back of the neck, to ensure their "demise."
Where is the news?
I agree with Kirsten: “The deafening silence of too much of the media, once a force for justice in America, is a disgrace.”
What better meat-market for a young gay teenager than the Boy Scouts?
I hope the Boy Scouts of America pull a Chick Fil A, whose business sky rocketed after taking a stand for marriage as it has been for 6,000 years of mankind (non-revisionist).
It will be interesting to see what happens with Chipotle Mexican Grill sales once the news manages to leak out.
