Eve and Adam
Terror - Islam
Thursday, June 20, 2013
J.L. Robb

Have you ever thought about how different the world would be had God made Eve first instead of Adam? Probably not, only strange people like me think about things like this.  Things would surely be a lot different though.

Many people, including Christians and Jews, don’t believe the Adam and Eve story really happened, two people (the first two) in a lush garden with only one rule? Made from dirt and then bone? It is hard to believe, even for believers. Some scholars believe the story of Adam and Eve is only symbolic, meaning the beginning of mankind. Adam means mankind, and Eve means beginning.

We may never know for certain which is true, but starting a population with only two people makes sense to me; and it couldn’t be two men or two women. Even evolutionists would have to agree (maybe) that the chances of two people evolving in the same neighborhood at the same time, of the opposite sex is pretty unlikely. As a matter of fact, according to Dr. Carl Sagan, the chances of evolution for even the simplest life form, arguably a virus, is  1 in 102,000,000,000 (1 in 10 with an exponential of 2 billion zeros); and Sagan was a staunch evolutionist. In the world of statistics, the probability of a virus evolving or self-assembling is zero.

In other words, the chances of evolution of even a virion (component of a virus that can be DNA or RNA based) is zero, zilch, nada. However, most of society believes otherwise. You could win the Mega-Millions every day for a billion years before even a virion could evolve, if then, much less a complete virus.

Evolutionists say we were lucky. I’d say so.

For the sake of this story however, we assume that Eve and Adam were two distinct people who were created by God or were “lucky” enough to have evolved in the same neighborhood at the exact same time and not been killed by their confused Great Ape parents.

Over the years some women have said to me, “The Bible was written by men and for men, not women.” For the most part that’s true that men wrote the Bible, except for a couple of books, and there does appear to be a certain slant in favor of men, in my opinion.

The Old Testament has some laws spelled out about attire, like cross-dressing,

“A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this.” Deuteronomy 22:5 NIV

The only scriptures about women covering themselves in any specific way came from Paul in the New Testment.

“I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.”  1 Timothy 2:9-10 NIV

“For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.” 1 Corinthians 11:6 NIV

If Eve had been created first, would men have been told to cover their heads and to dress appropriately?

BurqaIn the world of Islam, the interpreters took Paul’s cover your head if you’re a woman to a whole new level. The Quran states that women should dress modestly. Some Muslim men, like the Taliban, have determined “modestly” to be covered head-to-toe.

The United States appears to be entering “peace talks” with the Taliban. The Taliban believe whole-heartedly in lying to achieve their means, because it’s okay to do so according to their holy book. The Taliban has declared war on the United States, but it looks like we think they’re just kidding.

According to Cal Thomas in an article today, he gives a good indication of what the Afghan women have to look forward to.

“Before 9/11, I attended an event in New York hosted by some female celebrities who wished to draw attention to the plight of Afghan women. I heard stories from female doctors and teachers about how the Taliban had made women's lives miserable. They were not permitted to leave the house, unless accompanied by a male relative. A male relative had to deposit their bus fare in the coin box. Women were banned from working in public places. Women had to wear a burqa if they went outside and the windows in their homes had to be covered so no one could see inside. Girls and women were not allowed to attend publicly funded schools.”

I would surely hate to be a man in the Taliban world, had God created Eve before Adam. Can you imagine the men wearing burqas because the women just couldn’t control themselves? Can you imagine a world where men were confined to their homes, or couldn’t drive a car or appear in public without your momma or sister?

On second thought, it would be interesting to see these Taliban cowards who kill people at the drop of a hat for any reason, have to live like the women they control. If there is a hell, I hope they are confined to wearing a tent everywhere they go with tiny slits they could see through. That way they could see the women living freely, dressed the way they wish, having the good jobs and going to school.

If we try to appease this group of peace-seekers, this will again become the world of the Afghan woman. It will also be another case of not learning from history. How many buildings, planes and dead Americans will we have to see before it sinks in that the radical segment of Islam cannot be trusted?

Hmmmm… a group of Taliban men wearing pink burqas. Sounds like an idea for a book.
