Paula Deen and Gay Marriage
June 27, 2013 - Perspective on the News
Yesterday was a big day for the homosexual community in the United States, thanks to President Obama’s and Hollywood’s continued endorsement of and lobbying for what God described as an abomination. Actually it’s been a great five-year period for that community.

Oh Baby It’s Cold Outside
May 02, 2013 - Perspective on the News
What in the world is going on with our climate? When it’s hotter than normal, it’s global warming. Let me clarify, it’s 'Man Made' global warming. When it’s colder than normal, like this Spring in the eastern United States, it’s global… I mean 'Man Made' global warming. There is no such thing in backing the right horse in this scenario, because it’s a win-win for the environmental elite. Does Al Gore have a science degree?

Dancing with the Morons
March 16, 2013 - Perspective on the News
Have you seen the Harlem Shake? I didn’t say, “Did you see Harlem shake?” This is not an earthquake!

Blue State Blues
November 07, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Election night, and even though only a few have been called, the tension associated with watching states turn red or blue has already driven my youngest daughter out of the room-- at 15, now old enough to be engaged but not old enough for any real long-range perspective.  Which is something we could all use some of tonight, right?

The Warrior’s Creed
November 06, 2012 - Perspective on the News
The first Warrior's Creed to be formally adopted and articulated by the United States military was that of the US Army Rangers. American Ranger history is older than the country itself. The first American Rangers were founded by Ethan Allen in the 1760’s.

Al Gore and Hurricane Sandy: At Least He’s Not Blaming God
November 02, 2012 - Perspective on the News
As Hurricane Sandy rushed ashore this week, devastating the Northeast and New Jersey in particular, self-proclaimed environmental science guru, former Vice President Al Gore, blamed the storm on us, we the people.  The cause of the historic storm was global warming, ''man-made'' global warming that is.

Intolerable Tolerance
October 23, 2012 - Perspective on the News
I was watching the O'Reilly Factor last week when he announced a new viewer's poll question. The question intrigued me -- I wish I had asked it. More than that, I was a little surprised at my own answer to it.

Mission Creep
October 16, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Mission creep: The tendency for a task, especially a military operation, to become unintentionally wider in scope than its initial objectives.

Then There Was No One Left To Speak Up For ME. . .
October 02, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Many years ago, I was a police officer in Mount Pleasant, Texas.  The chief of police at that time was a legendary figure named B.C. Sustaire.  He was a giant of a man who had come to work for MPPD the year that I was born.

Who Caused the Financial Crisis?
September 24, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Economists have had four years to examine the financial crisis that would become the Great Recession and the subsequent crisis that followed.   The evidence now suggests who and what caused it, why it was prolonged and why the crisis worsened dramatically a year after it began.

Kool-Aide Drinking Zombies
September 22, 2012 - Perspective on the News
All this week, we have been discussing the Islamic uprisings in the Middle East.

Reader Asks: If God Ordains Rulers, Why Vote?
September 21, 2012 - Perspective on the News
America's competitive edge has always been the benchmark standard against which all other nations were measured. America's position as the richest, most competitive nation on earth was unquestioned. American economic supremacy was taken for granted like water or air; ''sound as a dollar'' was an expression of supreme confidence.

Is Anybody Driving the Bus?
September 14, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Recent headlines were all about the fact that President Obama attended Presidential National Security briefings about 43% of the time.  Another headline noted that Obama spent 412 hours in meetings about the economy and more than 600 hours on the golf course.

9/11 Terrorist Attack: President Bush’s ''Inheritance''
September 13, 2012 - Perspective on the News
''So we tried to be quite aggressive with them (al Qaeda).  We got – well, Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan.  He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan.  And we’d been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again.  They released him.  At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America, so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.  So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, ’cause they could have.  But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn’t and that’s how he wound up in Afghanistan.'' - Bill Clinton, 2002 Speech (later retracted during 9/11 Commission Report)

Blind Guides
August 29, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Eugenio Ragazzi and Guido Roghi of the University of Padova in Italy returned from the Dolomite Alps recently with some interesting souvenirs: 70,000 tiny drops of amber, estimated to be 230 million years old.  But it wasn’t the amber they were interested in.  It was what the amber held inside.

The Disarming of America
August 24, 2012 - Perspective on the News
President Obama offered ''hope and change'' and said he planned to fundamentally change our country.  He has certainly done both.  Now we ''hope'' we can find a job and there’s very little ''change'' in our pockets.  He says it’s George Bush’s fault, as does Madeleine Albright, the first female U.S. Secretary of State. Ms. Albright went so far as to state that they (democrats) plan to blame Bush ''forever''.  Why not?  It seems to work.

From Athens BC To Washington DC . . .
August 22, 2012 - Perspective on the News
In the mid-eighteenth century, a Scottish lord named Alexander Fraser Tytler took upon himself the ponderous task of writing; ''The Universal History of the World; From the Creation of the World to the Beginning of the Eighteenth Century.''

How the Left Spells 'Tolerant'
August 17, 2012 - Perspective on the News
An act of domestic terrorism was perpetrated on an American target yesterday when a gunman walked into a political advocacy and lobbying organization and opened fire, wounding a security guard. But some members of the liberal media are actually defending the 'gunman' and highlighting the victim organization as a ''hate group''.

War of the Elites
August 13, 2012 - Perspective on the News
It’s political season and the elites are controlling the conversation once again.  Turn on any channel of your choice and just listen for anyone you think might be telling the truth.  You’ll be sadly disappointed.

The Mars Mission: Is it worth it?
August 09, 2012 - Perspective on the News
This week an eight-month journey to Mars was completed. It was our 41st mission to Mars, of which 27 have been unsuccessful.  This mission has a published price tag of 2.5 billion dollars.  That’s $2,500,000,000.00, a lot of zeroes in this bad boy!

The Chicken That Roared
August 07, 2012 - Perspective on the News
Propaganda can be as blatant as a swastika or as subtle as a joke.  All it takes is a target and the willingness to exploit an opportunity.  Sometimes, the opportunity comes in the form of a private citizen who thinks he has a First Amendment right to an opinion.

Ready, Fire, Aim!
July 26, 2012 - Perspective on the News
''All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.'' - Sun Tzu, the Art of War

Christian Persecution or Protection in America?
July 14, 2012 - Perspective on the News
On Monday, July 9th, Phoenix Pastor Michael Salmon was jailed and fined over $12,000 for violating zoning requirements within the city limits.   What could be so heinous about a zoning violation that would cause the Pastor to be thrown in jail?  Apparently, he was holding Bible studies at his residence a couple of times a week.
