The Sleepers Have Awakened
According to an ABC ‘exclusive’ report, Iran has activated Hezbollah ’sleeper cells’ inside Canada with orders to attack Jewish targets and kill as many Canadians as possible.
Intelligence officials tell ABC News the group has activated suspected “sleeper cells” in Canada and key operatives have been tracked moving outside the group’s Lebanon base to Canada, Europe and Africa. Suspected Hezbollah operatives have conducted recent surveillance on the Israeli embassy in Ottawa, Canada and on several synagogues in Toronto, according to the officials.
One of the intelligence officials cited by ABC News was Bob Baer, former CIA official and author of the book, “Sleeping with the Enemy.” Baer’s credibility should be tempered against rabid anti-Bush partisanship, including recent allegations that 9/11 was an inside job.
However, even a broken watch is right twice a day, and while Baer’s conclusions might be colored by political partisanship, his sources of information are often well-respected insiders.
“They want to kill as many people as they can, they want it to be a big splash,” said former CIA intelligence officer Bob Baer, who says he met with Hezbollah leaders in Beirut last month.
“They cannot have an operation fail,” said Baer, “and I don’t think they will. They’re the A-team of terrorism.”
That sounds ominous. Even more ominous is Baer’s contention that a “known Hezbollah weapons expert was followed to Canada, where he was seen at a firing range south of Toronto, near the US border.”
Canada’s multi-cultural ‘experiment’ means that pretty much anybody with a foreign accent and a hard-luck story can be granted entry into Canada. ‘South of Toronto, near the US border’ one finds the world’s most recognizable tourist destination, Niagara Falls.
One can stand at Table Rock on the Canadian side of the Falls and be just two hundred yards from the United States. Niagara Falls is one of the most strategic targets in North America. An attack on the power generation stations there would black out the entire Eastern seaboard, from the Canadian border to Florida.
