The Latest on BHO Mysterious Birth Certificate
I got an email attached to an Omega Letter Daily Intelligence Digest regarding the growing mystery about Barack Obama’s birth certificate. The email highlighted the following quote from Politifact proclaiming, “Obama’s Birth Certificate: The Final Chapter.”
The Hawaii Department of Health receives about a dozen e-mail inquiries a day about Obama’s birth certificate, spokesman Okubo said.
“I guess the big issue that’s being raised is the lack of an embossed seal and a signature,” Okubo said, pointing out that in Hawaii, both those things are on the back of the document. “Because they scanned the front … you wouldn’t see those things.”
Okubo says she got a copy of her own birth certificate last year and it is identical to the Obama one we received.”
What was not included in the quote was this line:
“Unlike the other documents, Hawaii birth certificates aren’t public record. Only family members can request copies, so when the campaign declined to give us one, we were stalled.”
One cannot call it the ‘Final Chapter’ on Obama’s birth certificate without some explanation for the campaign’s refusal to authorize the State of Hawaii to release an original copy to the media. Assuming that the two are identical (which is certainly the contention made by the Obama campaign at its “Fight The Smears” website.)
I don’t mind being proved wrong. In fact, I’ll cheerfully admit that I might be. But something doesn’t smell right. The whole premise behind the “Fight the Smears” website is to, well, fight the so called internet ’smears’ by giving Obama supporters ‘evidence’ they can send to their brainwashed friends to help them ’set them straight about Obama.’
There are but eight identified ’smears’ on the whole website. One would, therefore, logically assume that these must be the eight ’smears’ the Obama campaign finds the most damaging. (If you have a more logical explanation, feel free to post it in the comments section below — I’m genuinely interested.)
Having assumed that these eight ’smears’ are the most needful of being cleaned up, the “Fight the Smears” menu offers in 4th place, below “Michelle’s Pride in Country“; “Obama and Taxes“; and “Michelle on Tape” where we find, “Birth Certificate.”
Displayed on that page is what the Obama campaign claims is a photocopy of Obama’s birth certificate,
suitable for framing, or for sending along to a skeptical friend in order to fight the ’smear’. There is no private information on the original that isn’t on the photocopy — not if they are identical. (You can see for yourself that the only thing blocked out on the Obama copy is the certificate number)
So making a photocopy, creating a web page, posting the photocopy, (along with a handy note to your skeptical friend) seems like lot of trouble to go to. But if it helps ‘fight the smear’ then not so much. There ARE only eight of them, after all. Knocking out any one of them would help.
It raises the question, how much trouble, comparatively speaking, would it be for the Obama campaign to authorize the state to release a certified copy of the original to an independent media to examine?
One second after reporters compared the state-certified copy to the copy posted on the ‘Fight the Smears’ website, this is a smear the campaign can tick off forever. Not only that, but such conclusive evidence of what would then be such an obvious smear would blunt the edge of Smears 1- 7.
But certainly, Smear #4 will die an immediate death beyond any hope of resurrection. One might countenance a conspiracy within the Obama campaign, but nobody outside of a psychiatric ward is going to suggest the State of Hawaii of being complicit in a conspiracy to conceal Barack Obama’s official vital statistics.
Fighting this ’smear’ isn’t nearly so difficult and complicated as building a website or creating a special web page to dispel myths about his birth certificate. All it would take is a phone call to the Hawaii Bureau of Vital Statistics.
But this incredibly simple solution the Obama campaign refuses to do. Until it either releases a certified copy, or explains why it won’t, Smear #4 isn’t going anywhere.
