Ahmadinejad A Jew?
The London Daily Telegraph claims that it has evidence that the world’s most dangerous anti-Semite may well have a Jewish background.
“A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots. A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.”
Wonderful. A Persian self-hating Jew with an Islamic messianic complex and a nuclear bomb.
Obama: Loved By Many, Feared By None
Tim Reid summarized the Obama administration succinctly in the lead column of his London Times Online article discussing the Olympic Committee’s decision to eliminate Chicago from consideration for the 2016 Olympics despite his controversial trip to Denmark:
“There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama’s presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence.”
The president’s grandiloquence was exceeded only by his wife’s. She made headlines lamenting the ’sacrifice’ she was making in order to help make Chicago’s dreams come
true:
“As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”
One wonders what people were discussing the sacrificial nature of the Obama’s multimillion-dollar tax-payer funded boondoogle to Denmark on? Just the flight on Air
Force One cost somewhere between $800K and $1.2 million. And that doesn’t include the First Lady, her entourage, and Cabinet officials who travelled separately at public expense. Figure a couple of million, at least. That’s pretty sacrificial. Especially in a recession with unemployment tapping 10%.
Could it be the sacrifice made by the environment that absorbed the enormous carbon footprint (8,379 metric tons) left by the Obamas and their entourage in getting there? That’s pretty sacrificial, considering the President deposited as much CO2 into the atmosphere in two days as 430 American families generate per year. Especially
given that Obama is so dedicated to “cleaning up the environment” that he advocates skyrocketing energy bills for the rest of us to pay for it.
Iran is just about ready to announce it’s entry into the Nuclear Club. General McChyrstal, the commander of US forces in Afghanistan, met with the President for the first time in seventy days — and the last time was by videoconference.
McChyrstal made the stunning admission on “60 Minutes” in the context of discussing the fact that without the immediate injection of more troops, the war will soon become “unwinnable.” By my informal count, 49 US troops have died in Afghanistan since McChyrstal requested the reinforcements.
Boston.com’s Political Intelligence column reported that Obama was able “to squeeze in his first face-to-face meeting” with the General:
McChrystal was summoned from London, where on Thursday he gave a speech warning that the militants are gaining strength and more troops are needed to “buy time” for the Afghan military and police forces to prepare to take control of the country in 2013. He said there is a “huge risk’’ al Qaeda terrorists will again find safe haven in Afghanistan unless new tactics are put in place in the near future.
Obama has given more than 120 major speeches pushing his health care bill. He’s given countless interviews and talk shows — but he’s never met with General McChyrstal? Ever? Are you kidding me?
It appears that the administration fears Afghanistan will become another Vietnam, so they are doing all the same things that made Vietnam the foreign policy equivalent to the Boogey-Man. Johnson and Nixon ignored their commanders and ran the war from Washington. And lost it.
Come to think of it, historians say that Nazi Germany would have won World War II if Hitler had listened to his commanders instead of playing armchair general from Berchtesgaden. But he didn’t, (thank God) and he lost, too. But the lesson is obvious.
While all of this was going on, Barack and Michelle were off to Copenhagen, Oprah Winfrey in tow, all of them sacrificing themselves to bring the Olympic circus to Chicago.
Giving rise to my favorite headline of all, the Drudge Report’s: “The Ego Has Landed.”
ObamaCare: Insurance or Jail
From today’s Politico:
Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) received a handwritten note Thursday from Joint Committee on Taxation Chief of Staff Tom Barthold confirming the penalty for failing to pay the up to $1,900 fee for not buying health insurance.
Violators could be charged with a misdemeanor and could face up to a year in jail or a $25,000 penalty, Barthold wrote on JCT letterhead. He signed it “Sincerely, Thomas A. Barthold.”
Defiant Iran Test Fires Missile
Iran said it successfully test-fired short-range missiles during drills Sunday by the elite Revolutionary Guard, a show of force days after the U.S. and its allies condemned Tehran over a newly revealed underground nuclear facility that was being secretly constructed.
English-language Press TV reported the Fateh-110, Tondar-69 and Zelzal were test fired in a missile defense exercise, but did not give specifics on range or other details. All are short-range, surface-to-surface missiles.
Gen. Hossein Salami, head of the Revolutionary Guard Air Force, told reporters Iran tested a multiple missile launcher for the first time. Press TV showed pictures of at least two missiles being fired simultaneously and said they were from Sunday’s drill in a desert in central Iran. In the clip, men could be heard shouting “Allahu Akbar” as the missiles were launched.
“The message of the war game for some arrogant countries which intend to intimidate is that we are able to give a proper, strong answer to their hostility quickly,” the Web site of state television quoted Salami as saying. He said the missiles successfully hit their targets.
Salami told reporters Iran had reduced the missiles and their ranges so they could be used in quick, short-range engagements. He also said Iran would test medium-range Shahab-1 and Shahab-2 missiles on Sunday night and long-range Shahab-3 missiles on Monday, during the drill set to last several days. The Revolutionary Guard controls Iran’s missile program.
Egyptian Coin Confirms Exodus Story
Back in 2001, the LA Times ran a story “Doubting the Story of the Exodus” that claimed there was a consensus among Biblical historians and archeologists that the Exodus didn’t really happen. A new report issued by MEMRI says Egypt is in possession of ancient coins that bear the inscription and image of Joseph, son of Israel, who became chief regent under Pharaoh.
“The researcher identified coins from many different periods, including coins that bore special markings identifying them as being from the era of Joseph. Among these, there was one coin that had an inscription on it, and an image of a cow symbolizing Pharaoh’s dream about the seven fat cows and seven lean cows, and the seven green stalks of grain and seven dry stalks of grain. It was found that the inscriptions of this early period were usually simple, since writing was still in its early stages, and consequently there was difficulty in deciphering the writing on these coins. But the research team [managed to] translate [the writing on the coin] by comparing it to the earliest known hieroglyphic texts…
“Joseph’s name appears twice on this coin, written in hieroglyphs: once the original name, Joseph, and once his Egyptian name, Saba Sabani, which was given to him by Pharaoh when he became treasurer. There is also an image of Joseph, who was part of the Egyptian administration at the time.
“Dr. Sa’id Thabet called on Egypt’s Antiquities Council and on the Minister of Culture to intensify efforts in the fields of Ancient Egyptian history and archeology, and to [promote] the research of these coins that bear the name of Egyptian pharaohs and gods. This, he said, would enable the correction of prevalent misconceptions regarding the history of Ancient Egypt.”
Obama Admits Defeat: Gitmo Won’t Close On Time
In another in a long line of broken campaign promises, the Obama administration admitted today that it cannot meet the arbitrary January 22nd deadline to shut down the terrorist (oops, I mean ‘man-causing disasterists’) detention camp at Guantanamo Bay.
Noted a disappointed CNN:
They cited legal complications for the delay, but said they were still optimistic about shutting the detention facility for terrorism suspects soon.
The announcement represents a blow to the president, who signed an executive order and set the deadline with great fanfare during his first week in office.
During a signing ceremony at the White House on January 22, Obama reaffirmed his inauguration pledge that the United States does not have “to continue with a false choice between our safety and our ideals.”
The president said he was issuing the order to close the prison camp in order to “restore the standards of due process and the core constitutional values that have made this country great even in the midst of war, even in dealing with terrorism.”
The delay may provide fodder for Republicans such as former Vice President Dick Cheney, who has argued that shutting the Guantanamo prison would make the United States less safe. He said Obama should have had a detailed plan in place before signing the order.
Ya think?
Syria Caching Heavy Weapons Near Israel’s Border
As news of the previously unknown Iranian nuclear facility has everybody re-evaluating Iran’s nuclear point of no return, the Israelis are reporting that Syria is caching heavy weapons along its shared border with Israel.
They said the Syrian Army was using civilian assets to conceal the rearmament operation.
“They are using civilian trucks to bring weapons near the border,” Ground Forces Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Mizrachi said.
In an address to a military conference on Sept. 2, Mizrachi said the Syrian Army was storing massive amounts of weapons in villages near the Israeli border. He said unmarked trucks were transporting a range of weapons to villages in the Golan Heights.
“This is why we need to split up our capabilities between a conventional war scenario to one that we are fighting against a non-conventional force,” Mizrachi said.
“The Syrians have learned from [the Iranian-sponsored] Hizbullah on how to use a civilian shield,” a senior officer said. “We expect Syria to do the same thing in any next war.”
The $90K People’s Car
Your tax dollars are being used to help a start-up automotive manufacturing company called Fisker Automotive. The car company received $529 million from the US government so that it c
an build hybrid sports cars — in Finland!
The Fisker will sell for about $89,000.00 US so not only will Americans not get jobs building them for the $529 million investment — Americans probably can’t afford to buy them, either. So why would the US government kick out a half a billion dollars in taxpayer money to build a foreign car for foreigners?
Fisker Motors says it will use the loan money to produce a $40K family sedan that hasn’t been designed yet for American families but in the meantime, production on the $89K Karma, pictured here, is due to begin this December.
Fisker Motors managed to get the half-billion dollar loan through connections with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a veteran Silicon Valley venture-capital firm of which Gore is a partner.
Employees of KPCB have donated more than $2.2 million to political campaigns, mostly for Democrats, including President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan group that tracks campaign contributions.
When the DOE was asked if Gore had any influence on Fisker’s application, DOE representative Matt Rogers was quick to reply, “Absolutely not.”
Of course it didn’t. Using American tax dollars to build cars in Finland that Americans can’t afford – why would anybody question that?
Mmm, Mmm, Mmm. . . Barack Hussein Obama
Red and yellow, black and white, all are equal in his sight . . . Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, Barack Hussien Obama! God help us.
So That’s What Community Organizers Do . . .
ACORN stands for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform now. It claims on its website that is the nation’s largest community organization of low and moderate income families.
ACORN formed the bulk of Barack Obama’s resume as ‘community organizer’ when he served as that organization’s lawyer. Now that he is president, ACORN is a taxpayer-funded charitable group.
Here’s some of what ACORN does with those taxpayer dollars to help the poor and oppressed:
