Who Ya Gonna Believe? Obama? Or Yer Lyin’ Eyes?
Is he bowing? Or did he drop a quarter?
The White House is denying that the president bowed to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at a G-20 meeting in London.
Instead, the President is claiming he had to bend down that low in order to grasp the King’s hand in both of his, similarly to his two-handed protocol gaffe with Queen Elizabeth.
However, Obama didn’t need to bow to grasp the hand of the diminutive British monarch. And if you look at the picture, King Abdullah’s hand is that moment just about even with Obama’s shoulders. And Obama’s head is about even with the King’s shoulders. (The King is about two inches taller than Queen Elizabeth.)
Yup, that’s the way I shake hands, too. I hold the other guy’s hands up even with my head while I genuflect with one leg and stare at the ground.
So, who are you gonna believe? President Obama or your lyin’ eyes?
