Israel Threatens Use of New Warfare Device

If Russia goes through with the sale of its most advanced anti-aircraft missile system to Iran, Israel will use an electronic warfare device now under development to neutralize it and as a result present Russia as vulnerable to air infiltrations, a top defense official has told The Jerusalem Post.

The Russian system, called the S-300, is one of the most advanced multi-target anti-aircraft-missile systems in the world today and has a reported ability to track up to 100 targets simultaneously while engaging up to 12 at the same time. It has a range of about 200 kilometers and can hit targets at altitudes of 27,000 meters. Read the rest of this entry »

US Vulnerable to Attack During Transition

The United States is more vulnerable to attack in the period between now and the inauguration of a new president in January, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said last week.

Adm. Mike Mullen told soldiers at Fort Lewis, Washington June 24 that he has set up a transition team to be ready for the next administration.

“I have, in my current job, stood up a transition team because this is a great time of transition,” Mullen said. “A time of transition is very, very challenging for any institution much less an entire country. Obama Racks Up Ahmadinejad Endorsement

\Now that Barack Obama seems to have the Democratic nomination locked up, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wants him to know that he intends to deal very sharply with him when Obama beats a path to his door as he pledged to do as part of his election platform. Vote For Obama

“The United States will have a reduced sphere of influence in the world,” he predicted, adding: “The new president will have to respond to the real demands of the American people: 40 million American citizens do not have health insurance, the victims of the New Orleans hurricane still have no homes.”

In addition, the United States “will have to withdraw the soldiers from Iraq (since) the American people will not tolerate continued spending of billions of dollars on weapons,” said Ahmadinejad, in Rome to attend the UN food agency’s summit on food security.

Asked whether he would negotiate with the new US leadership come January 2009, Ahmadenijad said: “It is they who cut off the links with us, hoping to suffocate us. Today Iran is an advanced country. We are ready for dialogue with anyone, except with the Zionist regime, in relations based on mutual respect and fairness.”

So, in addition to the endorsement of Hamas and the al-Qaeda leadership, Obama has also racked up one from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. With endorsements like these, how can anybody hope to defeat him?
