Will The REAL Bigots PUHLEEZE Sit Down?

Hey, did you hear that Chris Christie is fat?  You didn’t?  You must not watch CNN or MSNBC.  It’s the big headline over there.

Coming up next. . .  ‘Is Chris Christie too fat to be president? Al Sharpton prescribes 90 days in jail’ – Next, on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.”

Honest.  Joe Scarborough had Al Sharpton on his program to talk about how fat New Jersey governor Chris Christie is.  Sharpton set it up by telling Joe Scarborough that he lost 120 pounds. Scarborough played straight man, asking Sharpton, “And how did you do that?”

Sharpton explained that he was arrested for leading a protest in Puerto Rico and while he was in jail, he went on a hunger strike and lost 120 pounds in the process.  It educated him, Sharpton explained.  His experience taught him that, “Most of what we eat is what we think we want.”

Wow.  Now that is profound!  With the kind of sagacity Al Sharpton brings to the table, no wonder MSNBC is so highly-rated!  Al Sharpton was not the first liberal to notice that Governor Christie is fat.

Michael Kinsely, writing in New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s “Bloomberg.comopened his column with a clever title; “Can People of Weight Become President?” and following up with this shining example of liberal acceptance and tolerance:

“Look, I’m sorry, but New Jersey Governor Chris Christie cannot be president: He is just too fat. Maybe, if he runs for president and we get to know him, we will overlook this awkward issue because we are so impressed with the way he stands up to teachers’ unions. But we shouldn’t overlook it -- unless he goes on a diet and shows he can stick to it.

Kinsely goes on to argue that Chris Christie’s weight gives him an unfair advantage over his thinner liberal opponents that Kinsely is determined to nip in the bud.

“There is a theory, of course, that being fat would benefit Christie by authenticating his portrayal of Everyman -- just a regular fella, like so many others, who’s sick to death of Washington and its taxing ways. Being overweight establishes Christie’s bona fides as a populist, and as someone indifferent to the superficial trends that sweep through Cambridge or West Hollywood.”

Aha!  So don’t take it wrongly when the liberals start mocking Chris Christie for his weight.  They’re really just countering Christie’s clever trick of being fat so that when liberals start mocking him for being fat, it will make the liberals look bad.

Yeah, that’s the ticket!  Christie plans to trick them into behaving like shallow, mean-spirited morons!  Yeah, that’s it!  Very clever, those wily Republicans!  But it won’t work, says Kinsely.

Americans (meaning liberals) are even more clever and will easily see through this transparent trick.  Indeed, Christie may not even be overweight – he may just be claiming it to win support from other fat people.  Honest – he really wrote that.

“Actually, claiming that being seriously overweight establishes some kind of bond with ordinary folks is a bit of an insult to ordinary folks, most of whom are not obese. You’re on firmer ground claiming a bond with all humanity on the basis that the flesh is weak.

This is the place where I should point out that Kinsely is the one claiming Christie’s weight is an advantage.  Having made the claim on behalf of the Right, he sets out to dismantle it as if it was real, (rather than something he had just made up the paragraph before)

"On approximately this basis, we (at least I) have forgiven President Barack Obama his secret smoking (oh, of course he does) and some people (including me again, I guess) have forgiven President Bill Clinton his ... well, you know. So why should Christie’s weight be more than we can bear in a president? Why should it even be a legitimate issue if he runs?"

REp Jerrold Nadler

At this point, Kinsely almost sounds like he is sane.  But then he dispels the notion by noting that Obama doesn’t smoke in public, and Clinton didn’t do his “well, you know” in public, but Christie will be fat in public, which evidently is much worse.

"With a determined, disciplined effort, Christie could thin down, and he should -- because the obesity epidemic is real and dangerous. And the president inevitably sets an example."

Fascinating.  Has anybody ever seen Congressman Gerald Nadler?  He’s been in the Congress for nineteen years.  At 338 pounds he is hard to miss.

Another liberal opinion shaper, Eugene Robinson, writes for the Washington Post.  Robinson also begins his column with a clever double-entendre title; Chris Christie’s Big Problem, dismissing the idea that it is none of his business because;

“Christie’s problem with weight ceased being a private matter when he stepped into the public arena — and it’s not something you can fail to notice.”

One wonders if Eugene Robinson has similarly discriminatory views about the darlings of the Left?  What about Oprah Winfrey?  Michael Moore?  Rosie O’Donnell?

Is their obesity also a problem for Eugene Robinson?  Or is it only Chris Christie and only because he is a Republican?

If Robinson had any dire concerns about Congressman Jerrold Nadlers’ 338 lb weight problem over the last nineteen years, he failed to mention it publicly.   But when it comes to Christie, Robinson is a statistical expert on the topic.

"The NIH estimates that nearly 34 percent of U.S. adults can be classified as “obese,” meaning they have a body mass index of more than 30. By this standard, a man who stands 5-foot-11 — Christie’s reported height — would be obese if his weight reached 215 pounds. While Christie does not disclose his weight, it appears to exceed the 286 pounds that would place him among the 5.7 percent of American adults whom NIH classifies as “extremely obese.”

So, according to Robinson, (who is black) being fat is a legitimate election issue.  Reverend Al Sharpton (who is black and used to be fat before he went to jail) also thinks that Christie’s body shape and appearance are relevant to his politics.

Therefore, that is why we should keep President Obama in office.  First off, he isn’t fat, so he sets a great example for other Americans. Secondly, he is black, so he sets a fine example of how American politics has overcome its alleged institutional bigotry.

There is no room for bigotry in the Democratic Party.

While Al Sharpton and Eugene Robinson share their opinion that being fat is a good reason not to vote for Chris Christie, Anderson Cooper was over at CNN following up on Jeannine Garafalo’s contention that Herman Cain is really a racist.

According to Garafalo, only racist Republicans support Herman Cain.  Like Christie’s obesity, Cain’s skin color is only a trick designed to  confuse people into thinking his skin color is irrelevant.  It’s very, very relevant. At least, it is to liberals;

"Herman Cain is probably well liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican party. Conservative movement and tea party movement, one in the same.”

Exactly.  They are all alike.  If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.  And they are all bigots.  Not like Garafalo. . .

"People like Karl Rove liked to keep the racism very covert. And so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity. . .  you can say 'Look, this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look we have a black man.'"

Right.  Nice of old Herman to dress up in blackface so he can help the Republican Party’s disguise.  And if Cain really is black, then he is a traitor to his race, so nobody should vote for him, anyway.

How dare Cain pretend skin color is meaningless?  What a bigot he is!

Over on CNN, Cornell Belcher (a black race-mongering Democratic strategist) was making the case that Cain is a racist because he said that blacks that automatically reject conservatism as a viable political worldview had been ‘brainwashed.’

Belcher claimed Cain said “all blacks were brainwashed” and then played the Jewish card, challenging Cooper by saying,

“You know, if I came on your show, Anderson, and I said, all Jewish people are brainwashed, I probably wouldn't be invited back to CNN and I assure you the condemnation would be swift and it'd be powerful and be strong.”

Actually, Belcher did say that – I just quoted him – and on Cooper’s show.  Even then, Belcher was deliberately misquoting Cain to make his point -- and nobody offered to correct him.

Cain was referring only to those members of the black community that he says reject conservatism out of hand for racial reasons.

Cain didn’t say ALL blacks were brainwashed – Herman Cain is also black. (But he's not, really, because he is a conservative.  That was Belcher’s point.  Genuine blacks vote Democrat -- and to say otherwise is racist.)

In their desperation, the Left is accidently revealing where the real racism and bigotry flourishes.  The same place that it always has.  Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.  The KKK was founded as an arm of the Democratic Party.

George Wallace, Orval Faubus, Bull Connor, Lester Maddox . . . all the great segregationists were Democrats.  When Wallace converted from southern racism, he also switched parties and became a Republican.

America’s most troubled inner cities, like Detroit, Buffalo, Chicago, Miami, etc., have all been governed by Democratic monoliths for decades.  All of them.  Look it up.  The worse the condition of the inner city, the longer it has been under single-party Democratic rule.

The Left has no cards to play.  They’ve ruined everything they were granted authority over.  When Congress changed hands in 2006, Nancy Pelosi vowed to ‘fix’ the “Bush economy”.  Gas was $1.40 and unemployment at 4.5%.

Two years later, the economy was in free fall, the banking and housing markets collapsed.  Gasoline was four bucks a gallon and unemployment was over 7% and climbing.

The Left has governed for almost four years now.  The economy is even worse, the housing market may not rebound until 2020 or later, unemployment is hovering around 10% and the dollar is shrinking faster than a pair of Walmart jeans.

The times could hardly be more perilous.

“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:” (2 Timothy 3:2-4)

The Left bet it all and lost.  They don’t have any more legitimate cards to play.  The best they can do now is to make the other side’s hand look weaker.

Even if it means exposing who the real bigots in American politics are in the process.
