Hello, Could you please explain this verse to me a little more.

According to Isaiah, in that day, a "mulititude of many people which make a noise like the noise of the seas and to the russhing of the nations" will stand up against Israel, but "God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off." (17:12-23)

Would the prophecy of Psalm 83 in conjunction with Isaiah 17 go hand in hand as an event that subdues the 5 border countries of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia to Israel? Could this create the atmosphere of unwalled villages, wealth (oil) and peace that the Ezekiel alliance feels obligated (as hooks in the jaw) to move against?

Jack - Yesterday I read a most fascinating article from Kit Olsen for Rapture Ready that I posted in the members only forum that convinced me that Psalm 83 is really a "Imprecatory prayer" - meaning it is a fulfilled / still being fulfilled prophecy which correlates with Ez. 38 and 39, and is a prayer for Gog and Magog to be fulfilled and Israel's enemies to be taken away...

The article talks about the "Unwalled Villages" and all and I am more convinced now that we ARE indeed seeing Ezekiel's battle approaching!

I urge you to take a look at this article as I would love to hear your comments   It connected a lot of dots for me, as it would seem that in order for this massive confederation with Gog to be that massive and that dire that only God can save them, Israel's enemies like Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria, etc... would have to be a part of this and not destroyed at some earlier point.

In addition the article talks a little about the Arab League being identicle to the peoples mentioned in Psalm 83...

Maranatha!

An interesting thought popped into my head when you mentioned Germany was Irans largest EU trading partner.

It reminds me of that verse in Revelation where Jesus is talking to the church dwelling where Satans seat is.  Through and odd series of events the temple that Christ seems to be referring to was moved to Germany by the Nazi's and there is a model of it in the ... I found it.

That just stood out to me.  Perhaps I'm reading to much into things.

God Bless

I disagree with a small part of Jack's assessment concerning Ezekiel 38:11. Ezekiel chapters 38 & 39 are not in chronological order; they are reversed in order. The key word is "rest" in Ezekiel 38:11, which directly refers to the millennium reign. So... chapter 38 deals with the final battle at the end of the millennium not Armageddon. Chapter 39 is a passage concerning Armageddon at the close of the tribulation. Compare with Hebrews chapters 3&4 ("rest" recorded 10 times) and Revelation 20 (Gog and Magog battle at the close of 1000 years). Essentially the world has 3 world wars on deck and we're drawing closer to the the first one - which I believe will be a limited nuclear war in the middle east. Otherwise great article! Keep going brother! Dr. Ward D. Albin

I've been praying for God to put His Holy Spirit upon me and for me to write things that honor Him.

So, I'm praying that the thoughts I'm about to say are what He would want me to say; not what my man-made mind makes up.

For Israel and the other nations to sign a Peace Deal when the Anti-Christ comes on the scene, there would have to be a good reason for Israel to make the Peace deal.  Deals have not been successful in the past; so, I think they're going to want something more than just words.  Likewise, the other Nations would have to honor it for the first part of the Tribulation; because there is a period of false peace.  Right now, they have the upper-hand with their terroist regimes.  They're not going to "honor" the agreement until their is some serious consequences for them not to honor it.  In other words, Israel will have the upper-hand at the time the Anti-Christ comes on the scene.

This would make sense that the "Burden of Damascus" would come about prior to to the Gog-Magog war laid out in Ezekiel.

Without being sure of what the timing of the Rapture would be, I'm thinking the Burden of Damascus could happen either pre or post Rapture.  Likewise with Ezekiel; but, my thoughts on Ezekiel would be that the events could transpire as such:

  1. The Burden of Damascus occurs
  2. The Rapture happens prior to or after the Burden of Damascus
  3. Israel has defeated Syria and neighboring Muslim Nations causing Iran and Russia to regroup
  4. The events of Ezekiel occur
  5. People of the earth acknowledge God had something to do with Israel surviving and believe in God
  6. The false prophet comes on the scene and convinces many that the "god of this world" is really the god that saved Israel, and all of the religions have really been worshiping him all along (because the Indwelling Holy Spirit is no longer here since the Church was raptured; thus allowing "believers" to be deceived)
  7. The false prophet endorses the Anti-Christ and the A/C confirms the covenant with Israel in order to bring Peace upon the nations and so they can all worship the "god of this world"
  8. The Tribulation

Whether or not these sequence of events occur exactly as written; only Scriptures can reveal the truth; and I'm hoping to see them unfold soon...from God's balcony seats in Heaven.  Laughing

Thank you for your perspective. My "gut" tells me that Damascus is the key that will open the door or Pandora's box, prophetically speaking. I think there is a good chance we will see Damascus become that ruinous heap before the rapture and could take place at any moment.

The lineage of the areas mentioned in Psalm 83 are interestingly absent from the lineage of the areas mentioned in Ezekiel 38 & 39 according to a work that Bill Sallus wrote called Isralestine. If his development of identification of these area is acurate then the question must be asked, what happend to these areas and folks and why aren't they specifically mentioned and included in Ezekiel. I found the premise to be interesting. Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum considered the concept well thought out and interesting also. Dr. Fruchtenbaum has written extensively on these matters from a Jewish perspective. He has an entire library of writings available on escatology and Israelology. As Jewish Ministry Institute President, Gary Candlish recently observed, he found the premise to be quite interesting, in fact very plausible. He just wasn't ready to "take a bullet for it."Laughing

We aren't going to figure everything out but we do have enough ammunition to sound the alarm to a lost and dying world that these events are getting very close, regardless of the actual order of events.

The good Doctors mention of the chronology of Ezekiel 38 & 39 is also interesting. That would explain the mystery of the mention of Gog and Magog at the conclusion of the 1,000 year Reign of Christ.

But like Ed Hindson has often said: "Don't waste your time trying to guess the time, be ready all the time because He could come at any time."

Things are getting very exciting. I can hardly keep up with it all and its playing hell on my diet.

Let's face it, if you knew the rapture was going to happen tomorrow, would you stick to your diet today?

I'm heading for the ice cream shop tonight!

Maranatha!

If Iran dropped the bomb on Israel today, Israel would still be able to exercise its Samson Option. It would not only take out Iran but the rest of the Muslim countries. The crazies in Iran don't mind everybody dying for them but when was the last time you heard of a Muslim leader strapping on a suicide belt? Iran has supply Hamas and Hezbolla with thousands of rockets (estimates from 40,000 to 100,000) and every piece of military hardware and training there is. Egypt lets Hamas in Gaza  smuggle in all the weapons it can and Syria is preparing for war. The leader of Jordon has said recently that if Israel doesn't change it ways, then the only option is war.

With all this war preparation something has to give. Israel's immediate neighbors will attack but with God's help only Israel will be left standing. With Israel's neighbors doing all the fighting Iran just sits back and watches. This way they are around for the Gog/Magog war.

Just got home, I have been a bit distraught for the past twenty four hours since hearing what happened at Fort Hood.

All I can do is say it like it is; Every Muslim male out there is one satanic verse(Koran) and one implanted thought by Satan in becoming Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

Hal’s almost on, I will read this OL and everyone’s posts later. It’s surreal to say the least

What else could tick me off today?

“Praise a thon” on TBN (no Hal) tonight. I love Paul and Jan, can’t wait to spend eternity with them. I’m NOT in a very good mood right now, pray for me.

P S at least Glenn Beck is on O'Reilly right now

Jack,

Your excellent article has "rekindled" my alertness to the lateness of the hour!  Slowly but surely, Israel's implacable enemies: Syria, Lebanon, Iran and their proxies have tightened the proverbial noose around her. The cowardly and deceitful UN has contributed to the increasing danger that Israel faces by minimizing her alarm to growing anti-Semitism.... so similar to that of pre-World War 2 Germany. Israel's call "never again" is falling upon deaf ears! The USA, once a fair-weather friend of Israel, has followed the lead of her muslim-leaning leader and has, for all practical purposes, left the Israeli's to fend for themselves.

Very soon now, we will awaken to the news that Syria's capitol city, Damascus, has been demolished by a defensive nuclear blast launched by Israel. Time is quite short... may each of us make every effort to reach out to those family members and friends who have yet to say "yes" to Y'shua.  For indeed, we truly are only...

Awaiting His Shout!

Jana
