AMEN AND AMEN!! I'd really love to see this commentary on the front page of every newspaper in America. It would be such a refreshing change to see truth parked next to the liberal opinions posing as "news". It seems to me Hollywood's pontificating (although we've long suffered the "wisdom" of Streisand, Fonda, Newman and a few others) was authenticated by Clinton, who probably identifies with their ability to pretend to be who they are not. Great job, Jack, and thanks to David Mannon for the terrific illustration. Mary M.

War, what is it good for? Executing justice, restraining lawlessness, preserving the blessing of liberty.
Every freedom we have as a people, every liberty we enjoy as an American citizen, every power we possess
as a nation, was bought and paid for with the blood and bodies of countless men.

The moral imperative of this war on terrorism is very, very simple; either we will destroy this malevolent
movement and all of its practitioners, or they will destroy us. There is great peril for our nation in the
false and foolish hope advocated by these people of influence called "celebrities". People who advocate that,
if ignored terrorism will somehow abate, if appeased they will perhaps be satisfied, if spoken well of, its
malevolent character will prove amendable. To them I say, if you don't believe them on account of what you've
heard them say, then believe them on account of what you have seen them do. If you don't believe nuclear bombs,
or something even more insidious is on the way, wait for it!!! We have run out of both time, and alternatives.
Indeed, we may have delayed too long, we may not be able to afford the costs of what we must now do, but we
can’t afford the alternatives either. The opposition to the war offered by these “celebrities” is in truth,
hindering our governments ability to defend the lives, property, and interests of the American people, while at
the same time aiding and abetting the terrorist enemies who would destroy the very means by which they
themselves attained such great wealth and stature. In fact, it is simply another way of saying to the terrorist,
“It’s okay, come, kill them. They deserve it”. These pompous mindless morons don’t speak for me. And if we
prevail in this war, I’ll not soon forget the treasonous stand taken by these pontificating parasites in our
nation’s hour of peril.

September 11th was not the beginning of this war; these people have been at war with us for the last 36 years, now America is at
war with them. Let us show ourselves formidable adversaries. Peace is no longer the issue. Victory must now be our objective.
For if we cannot prevail against this murderous malignant madness in the Sons of Muhammad that now menaces the entire
civilized world, there will be no more America, period. They intend to destroy us. Believe it.

Celebrities, people who make their living memorizing script written by others, then behaving in a manner as directed
by yet another, should leave weighty matters requiring a great deal of thought like war or peace to those persons
accustomed to such burdens.

Jack - RIGHT ON! They make no sense. I really don't understand what they're attempting to accomplish but I do know that I see the gulf between Believers and Unbelievers widening. Maybe that has nothing to do with this column but it's just so bizarre. None of it makes any sense. Like your article the other day about it's so absurd it has to be supernatural. You're the greatest. I know things are getting real depressing (doom and gloom) and it's hard for all of us. Earnestly seeking Christ these days means looking at all the horrible things too. You are a WONDERFUL blessing to me. I tell all my friends about you. WE LOVE YOU.

TV has such a profound impact on our society and unfortunately many people view the celebrities they see nightly in their homes as almost "omniscient." Hollywood and the liberal cause is exploiting that fact to the fullest and one case in point is the current show on NBC, "The West Wing." I personally have never seen an entire episode, and while I've heard the writing is superlative and the acting is top-notch, I can't bring myself to watch. To me, the most frightening thing I can imagine is Martin Sheen as President of the US. In the beginning the show had "conservative" advisors and even tried some reverse political correctness by having a fundamental, evangelical on staff (that didn't last long). Since the last Presidential election however, they have terminated their relationship with the conservatives and have decided to show their true liberal colors. I'm not sure those loyal viewers that were already "hooked" even realize what has happened. My concerned question is this: Is it possible that the Hollywood political elite may have hatched this whole series with the future agenda of actually running Sheen as a real candidate? He has always been involved in political action, going back to the days of the grape pickers and Cesar Chavez, continuing with the fight to promote abortion and ban the death penalty, right up to his present involvement in protesting the idea of war with possibly the greatest foreign enemy threat we as Americans face today. It seems the only hope the Democrats have for a future in politics may ride in their ability to use the media in an attempt to sway a viewing public that in their opinion may like the idea of another actor president. Along the same lines, the new show starring Barbara Streisand's step-son, Josh Brolin appears to be yet another attempt on Hollywood's part to influence the American voter. I don't know many people that have watched this particular show, but the TV magazines and other media outlets seem to always try to promote it as one of the "best" or "most watched" new shows. Let's be aware of what's happening on television. It affects more of the American public than we may be able to imagine. What we need is hard evidence of the agenda, then find an outlet that the public will see. On the plus side, there are a few popular shows that are blatantly patriotic and we need to support them whenever we can.

Don't want to forward this to Sam Rubin yet who does the entertainment stuff for KTLA, will write you about it, Sam is a very orthodox Jew who is very moral as I never heard a cuss word come out of his mouth in the eight years I have known him, but have been out of the loop for a while with the Hollywood bunch along with some in New York, yet somehow think that Sam is not a dead fish that floats downstream with all of the other dead stuff.

HA !!!
Speaking of actors finding themselves out of work...

CNN : Febrary 13, 2003

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) - Calling it "a page from the dark era of Hollywood," actor Sean Penn has filed a lawsuit against movie producer Stephen Bing, alleging Bing dumped him from a pending film project because of his views about a possible U.S. war on Iraq

Does anyone know the track record of producer Stephen Bing?

I don't understand why Stephen Bing would be concerned that Sean Penn's trip to Iraq would be a problem for his movie. After all, Bing was the second largest contributor to the Democratic Party in California in the 2002 Elections with nearly $6.9 million dollars. Could it be that he's afraid Sean may have lost some box office appeal with the American public, therefore costing Bing and his Shangri-La Entertainment money if they were to keep Penn on their project? I guess some capitalists have a hard time equating free-enterprize with free speech, huh. It sooooo rare to see these kinds of inconsistencies within the Hollywood political establishment - or is it?
Bing inherited his money from his father Peter who serves on the board of Stanford U and his grandfather Leo who was a New York real estate millionaire. He has been involved in a number of movie and TV projects as screenwriter, producer, director and actor. A short list includes: "Married with Children," the Chuck Norris "Missing in Action" trilogy, "Get Carter" starring Stallone and something called "Every Breath" starring Judd Nelson. Most appear to be relatively lackluster both in earnings and appeal, although the Norris movies tend to be more conservative in their content than one would expect from a devoted Democratic Party supporter. Most of this last information came from the Mother Jones website where it was also stated that Bing has a reputation as a playboy, and has "dated" the likes of Farah Fawcett, Uma Thurman, Sharon Stone and as previously mentioned was recently involved in a paternity suit with Elizabeth Hurley (former Estee Lauder "face," and Hugh Grant significant other). Through DNA testing, Bing was positively identified as the father - more's the pity for the baby. Bing really sounds more like a "poor little rich boy" that just wants to play in the Hollywood sandbox.

Maybe ... or perhaps Sean just wasn't outspoken enough against the war after his return from Baghdad.

Loved the letter to Hollywood. Unfortunately, I'm sure none of them frequent sites like these, so they may never "get it". They are so hypocritical in what they stand for. There are some that are driving these "hybrid" cars, saying that they are driving them to "save the environment". However, Leonardo DiCapprio admitted that owning one of those cars has nothing to do with the environment, but that it's the new "status symbol" in Hollywood. My husband works for one of the major airlines and if Alec Baldwin and Barbra Streisand want to move out of our country, I'll personally send them a one-way ticket to Afghanistan. :o)

Tell it like it is man! Bring on the McCarthy hearings of the 1950s. What is it about someone when they become a successful actor or actress that makes them unamerican? We need a movement to
boycott their movies and television shows. You left out Julia Roberts. She's rotten too.

Glenn! Wow! Was that just stream of conscienciousness? Wow! Don't you love it when the spirit just flows through your fingers like that? Yes, I believe you have made a very compelling, reality-based arguement for what we must do. One of the most important people in my life- forever, is Bahaii. We were high-school sweethearts and that is when he started getting interested in studying different religions. I was already bought and paid for by Christ. I hadn't seen or heard from him in nearly 30 years. I was heavy-hearted to learn of his committment to this belief. I know why he chose this. He was leaning toward pacivism when we discussed Vietnam. He was into that heavily simplified "multi-national corporation" B.S. It is such an easy, foolish arguement to blame EVERYTHING on multinational corporations, and I was even SICK of it back then. Hey, We're only an S-Corp now. Someday I'd like to grow up to be a multi-national corporation. What's wrong with that? We wouldn't be evil, I promise!
He grew up in a very large Christian family. He appalled them when he brought me- a white girl- home to meet them. Neither of our families allowed us to "go out" in public on a date, but I think that made us even closer because we talked about everything under and beyond the sun. He is not impressed with my reasoning or Hal's reasoning, but somehow I sent him one of Jack's articles. All he could say was that Jack had excellent points! There's still hope. Because I know his mind so well, there's a LOT of ego in his choice of belief, believe it or not. He's got a wall up, but I know how to bring it down. Pray for him, please. He is a very special person, to me. Thanks for your post, Glenn.

I completely agree with Jack on this one. Most actors are so removed from reality that they have no business commenting on the real world. I served for eight years of my life in both the Air Force and then the Army. I would not trade those eight years for a fake existence as an Actor. I faced hardship, pain and often had to place my personal feelings and desires on hold while I served....but this taught me something that only selfless service can. Respect. Respect for our country, others and our military. If the actors really want to be respects and listened to regarding politics...they should join the Army for four years. Maybe after that the "average" American would be willing to listen.

SHEEP!!!!!!!!!
Sheep are docile animals really, content to follow
the pack,no opinion of their own per se just content to let the sheep dog tell them where to go and what to do. i sure they have brains in their small heads but why use them the dog will tell them what to think.
lets face it most average americans are sheep who
for some reason that eludes me, dont think they have the right to question government policies or so-called civic leaders who are supposed to represent them. our tax dollars, your tax dollars
for years has supported dictators and governments that dont always uphold human rights. but no matter, an ally is an ally so your money goes to causes both overt and covert. if the roles were reversed i dont think we would appriecate some other country telling us who we should have has our leaders. we are actually now in this country's history experiencing the backlash from some very bad foreign policy decisions. so why would it bother sheep that a hollywood star would have the guts in a so-called democracy to speak his or her opinion. you dont agree so dont. why is it that so much of the petty name calling is coming from the so called american love it or leave it types. thank god you were not around in the fight for independence. how noble you thought
those who fought and died for establishing a democractic form of government. someone had to buck the system, question the status-quo, or we would not be where we are today. i am not saying
any anti-war sentiment compares to the founding of this country, but being able to have the right to question and influence change in a democracy is YOUR RIGHT as a citizen.
LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY--- a real lover of liberty does not put another down for their own opinion whether you agree or not. liberty is just that, our government is suppose to be for the people and if there are problems in how it governs its people the people have the right to speak up. after all its your money is it not?? if you dont think how or who our government gives your hard working money to is not your business, well that in my opinion is downright UN-AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!

I firmly believe that in order to become a "Big Star", (you know what a star is? A body of hot gas, they fit the description perfectly) you have to have sold your soul to the Devil. The Devil then requires you to do all these things, become or at least support these homosexuals, can't and won't call them "Gay", fight anything that is right and moral, defend the Devil's servants, the Muslims, anything he wants you would have to do.

Notice, I don't say some or militant Muslims. The Muslim religion and any of its devout followers are militant! Islam teaches murder! The Curan, orders its followers to kill ALL infidels: That is anyone who is not Muslim! I have read most of the Curan. I know what it says.

I cannot and will not ever believe a normal resonable person would ever go to these extremes unless the Devil is involved.

I never go to movies. I always check in advance who is in a movie on TV before I watch it.

Wow, I am short this time....lol

By the way, did you know that Allah is a form of the Arab moon god?

Just a couple of thoughts / facts on Mohammed.

"started" Islam when after he said an angel appeared to him and gave him a revelation.

Just a thought but Satan can appear as an angel of light according to Scripture.

Between the years of 610 -622 Mohammed "preached" in Mecca until he was thrown out as a crazy head case. At this point he only had about 10-15 converts.

After leaving Mecca, he went to Medina and changed his message to one of religious toleration for a while and began winning many converts. Sort of like "can't we all just get along"

By 625 he has a large religion and by the late twenties he controled a large portion of the Arab peninsula.

In 630 he returned to Mecca and killed the ones who threw him out. Guess the message of toleration was gone at this point.

After 630, Islam was spead all over the middle east at the point of a sword (i.e. you have two choices, die or convert)

If it had not been for Charles the Hammer in Southern France, odds are Islam would have been spread into Europe in the same manner.

Don't let anyone tell you Islam is a religion of peace. This is not its historical track record. Why do they call some "radical Muslims?" These are really the ones that practice what their book preaches.
