Great article Wendy! Sometime it seems "easier" to let someone else do the work for you and just sip the milk .  But never more filling and worthwile to just quitely read the word of our magnificent God!

As far as that Hillsong song is concerned, I know I find myself scrutinizing everything sometimes because I am suspicious of anything that may be some pop-religion junk. Catch me after listening to Jackie Alnor's - "Apostasy Alert" and I dont trust ANYONE! Hahahaha

Maybe they were drawing off of 2 Corinthians 12:9 when they wrote that?

“ My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” NKJV

Although.... The "My" personalizes it to God Himself! Saying God is strong we are weak.

Comments: Agree wholeheartedly with you Wendy. I have a big issue with “man-centered songs” in which the lyrics up there on the overheads urge us to musically crow about how we’re “blessing the Lord every day of our lives” and furthermore “being faithful to the end” and so on. I find myself nearly crying with relief when we sing “How great Thou Art” or “In Christ Alone”.

Comments: I know what you mean. Even when you study the writings of the most devout men, you are still studying men's thoughts not God's. I often wish there was an instruction book on how to really study the Bible.
