6 Shout AMEN!Amen ~ 12 PrayingPraying

Amen! You know, there's a part of me that wants Las Vegas to put odds on Israel's survival. Then, we could all put lots of money on it (that Israel WILL survive). Talk about easy money!

That and I just hate having the same first name as John Kerry's last name. I keep reading articles (like Wendy's) quoting him saying that Kerry said that and Kerry thinks this. No I didn't and I don't think that! Oh, sorry, that's right, we're not talking about me here. Thank God for that.

Comments: Hey Wendy, for something totally off topic...

On a scale of 0 - 10 -- 0 being easiest, 10 being most difficult, how difficult was it to learn Hebrew? And is there much difference between ancient and modern Hebrew? I would appreciate your thoughts.

And happy Thanksgivng!

Hey Michael-- I am flattered, but I actually haven't learned Hebrew so I can't answer your questions. I can, however, point you to a great resource (which I use all the time) called blue letter bible.  They have a function wherein you can look at all the meanings of the words in any verse, and a really useful part of that is that when you look up a word (for which you will typically get the pretty straightforward meanings for the words that you would expect ( i.e., common sunonyms to the English word the bible uses, you can click to see the root word, which is often very enlightening.  (or example, the root word for "hope" is "cord", ostensibly because hope is only as valid as what it is attached to.)  You can also look at all the ways that Hebrew word is translated in the Bible. So it is a great way to dig deeper if you don't have ready access to  really learning Hebrew or Greek.

Also Kerry-- I think it would be great if we could bet on Israel's survival! great idea! But then again, I guess we won't be around to collect. (I don't think western union has an office in heaven.)
