Member Comments:
Ten days or one day, the fact that God created everything from nothing is stupefying. What good is served by trying to make the creation time longer as though that makes it less miraculous? Creation is a miracle. A miracle, by definition, is a suspension of the natural and scientific laws--laws God created. He's not bound by time and physics. So I'm not going to truckle to the naysayers and be ashamed of the Word. One thing's for sure, science is never going to prove otherwise since they ARE limited by the natural and scientific laws.

Comments: There has been lots of discussion over how to define the word Yom in Hebrew in Genesis 1. It has been shown over and over again that when the word Yom is accompanied by the ordinal numbers 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. that it always refers to a normal 24 hour day, especially when it is accompanied by terms like "evening and morning". Exodus 20:9-11 tell us clearly that God created everything in six days, and they had to be normal 24 hour days, because our 7 day week (6 days of work, 1 for resting and remembering the Lord) was based on God's creation week. Otherwise we would be expected to work for 6 periods of indefinite amounts of time followed by one period of indefinite amount for resting. "When the plain sense, makes good sense seek no other sense lest it result in nonsense." If God intended to communicate more than 6 literal days, He is more than capable of doing so. Also, the Big Bang Theory says that the stars were formed first and then the planets. However, Scripture says the planet earth was first formed, and on day four the sun, moon and stars were created. Why would we believe that God would not communicate clearly what happened in the beginning? We must not mix human wisdom and understanding with God's.
