What does Wendy mean?

The name Wendy is of English origin, and the meaning of Wendy is "friend".

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
John 15:15

Great article on names. One of those things that makes studying Scripture so much of a delight.

Like you, Wendy, I've studied this subject for awhile.  Like numbers, names matter to God.  I can't take credit for all of the following, for obvious reasons.  But God has gifted my family and I believe our names bear this out.  Here are the names of me, my wife, and my children, followed by a repeat listing, with meanings included.

Paul Duane takes Elizabeth Ann.  With Liz, he produces Alexander David, Jonathan Lee, and Benjamin Paul, with Hannah Elizabeth.

Small and Swarthy (dark) takes an Oath of God, by His Grace. With this Oath, he produces the Beloved Defender of Men, YHWH gives him Protection and a Small Son of His Right Hand, with the Gracious Oath of God.
