So much for free will--at least insofar as post-Fall man is concerned. You don't have to be a Calvinist to recognize God's total sovereignty when it comes to salvation; the scripture is absolutely full of verses proving it. Why oh why does man insist on interjecting himself into the equation? The belief that our faith, our will, or a certain something in us caused us to come to Christ robs God of His glory and is not the true faith. You quoted Eph. 1:3-6 to explain what God realized He needed to do, but it's actually just the opposite. But I agree wholeheartedly with you about our call to holiness.
