Don Weitz
Don Weitz Mr. Weitz is a Second Generation Holocaust survivor, son of Sonia Weitz, Holocaust educator and co-founder of the Holocaust Center Boston North.
A graduate of Ithaca College with a major in Communications, Don has served as a PR/Media Relations specialist, news writer and editor, and broadcast producer and copywriter.
In the nonprofit sector, he served as PR Officer and Marketing Director for the Israel Ministry of Tourism’s Southern USA office in Dallas where he was involved in various aspects of tourism to the Holy Land – producing press tours and creating itineraries for both the Jewish and Christian markets.
His media relations efforts within the Christian, secular and Jewish press enhanced Israel’s image as a desirable destination.
By virtue of his contacts in the evangelical Christian community, Mr. Weitz has forged relationships between Christian organizations and Ines Weber’s Travel and Learn. Ms. Weber and Mr. Weitz have partnered in producing Holocaust-related study tours.
For the Bridges for Peace 2006 March of the Living tour, he participated in tour planning, itinerary and logistics, and produced the participants’ info packet including educational background materials and brochures.
Mr. Weitz is also dedicated to several nonprofit and Israel-related endeavors, including serving as Membership Director for the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and fundraising within the Christian Community for the Bnai Zion Medical Center in Haifa, Israel.
Don resides in Dallas.
